A national talent search is being conducted for the upcoming basketball-themed drama series, Swagger, from NBA superstar Kevin Durant. Apple order the series to it’s streaming service marking it as CBS TV Studios’ first series at Apple. James Seidman will serve as the Imagine executive on Swagger; Kevin Durant and Sarah Flynn will serve as executives for his Thirty Five Ventures. The drama is co-produced by Imagine TV and CBS TV Studios. Bythewood co-created limited Fox series Shots Fired with his wife and writing/producing partner Gina Prince-Bythewood. He also served as a producer on New York Undercover, among other credits.
The series will explore an examination on what it means to grow up in America, through the lens of AAU basketball.

- Jace – Character portrayed is 14 yrs old. African-American, male, MUST BE AT LEAST 6’ TALL. Jace, a six- foot-three man-child struggles to deal with the pressures of being one of the top ranked basketball players in the country. He has to learn to be a leader in addition to a baller. Cocky, competitive, but there’s a lot more going on beneath the surface. MUST HAVE INNATE ATHLETIC ABILITY, BASKETBALL A PLUS. SERIES REGULAR.
- Nick – Character portrayed is 14 yrs old. Puerto Rican, male, MUST BE AT LEAST 5’10’. Eye on the prize, even being displaced by Hurricane Maria won’t stop Nick’s drive to be the best basketball player in the country. MUST HAVE INNATE ATHLETIC ABILITY, BASKETBALL A PLUS. SERIES REGULAR.
- Crystal – Character portrayed is 14 yrs old. African American, female. She is attractive and athletic. One of the top female basketball players in the city, she won’t hesitate to play against the boys. MUST HAVE INNATE ATHLETIC ABILITY, BASKETBALL A PLUS. SERIES REGULAR.
- Phil – Character portrayed is 14 yrs old. African American, male, MUST BE AT LEAST 5’10 TALL. Phil is the enforcer for a rival team: Hoops For Life. We never quite know if Phil thinks he’s playing football or basketball. His gruff demeanor and quick temper hide a troubled home life. MUST HAVE INNATE ATHLETIC ABILITY, BASKETBALL A PLUS. SERIES REGULAR.
- Royale – Character portrayed is 14 yrs old. African American, male, ANY HEIGHT. Plays for the rival team: Hoops For Life. His struggle to fit in is only matched by his struggle to live up to his father’s expectations. MUST HAVE INNATE ATHLETIC ABILITY, BASKETBALL A PLUS. SERIES REGULAR.
- Drew – Character portrayed is 14 yrs old. Caucasian, male, AT LEAST 5’8” TALL. From a much more affluent part of town, but has no trouble fitting in on the team. With a great sense of humor, the only thing more impressive than his jump shot is his trash talking. . MUST HAVE INNATE ATHLETIC ABILITY, BASKETBALL A PLUS. SERIES REGULAR.
