A casting has gone out seeking various talent to work on the upcoming fifth season of the Showtime television drama series Billions. The series stars Academy Award nominee Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis and was created by Brian Koppleman, David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin. It premiered on Showtime on January 17th 2016. The series is loosely based on the activities of crusading federal prosecutor of financial crimes Preet Bharara, the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and his legal battles with hedge fund manager Steve Cohen of S.A.C. Capital Advisors. On May 8, 2019, the series was renewed for a fifth season by Showtime.
Filming will be taking place in NYC from November 2019 through May 2020. The casting director is currently seeking brand new fresh faced SAG-AFTRA talent who have never worked on the series in previous season to play background extras, standins, photo doubles and possible featured talent. At the present time they are currently seeking the following specific types:
- LAW ENFORCEMENT TYPES – Seeking Men and Women to portray Various Law Enforcement Types. Think Customs & Border Patrol Agents, NY State Troopers, NYPD Officers. Filming TBD dates between 2/6 and 2/21. Please put “FACEBOOK, LAW ENFORCEMENT” in the email subject line.
- OPERA ATTENDEES – Seeking NON-UNION Men & Women to portray opera goers. Men, ages 20s-90s, with their own tuxedo and formal style outerwear. Women, ages 20s-90s, with their own formal gowns and REAL fur coats or other formal style outerwear. Works Friday 1/10 exterior night shoot in NYC.
