A casting call has gone out seeking various types to work on the upcoming Paramount Pictures feature film project “The Trial of the Chicago 7“. According to Variety, the movie is based on the infamous 1969 trial of seven men charged by the federal government with conspiracy and inciting to riot, a result of the counterculture protests in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. The trial transfixed the nation and sparked a conversation intended to undermine the U.S. government.
Set to star are Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Frank Langella, Mark Rylance, Jonathan Majors, Seth Rogan, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jeremy Strong. Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay. Paramount will distribute the movie, with Cross Creek on board to producer and co-finance with Amblin. Marc Platt is producing with Steven Spielberg. Stuart Besser and Cross Creek’s Tyler Thompson will also produce, with Shivani Rawat exec producing. Filming is set to take place in none other than Chicago, Ill and is scheduled to get underway beginning October 14th 2019.
The casting director is currently seeking the following to work on the project as paid background extras, stand-ins, photo doubles and possible featured talent:
