Production is set to get underway shortly on season 3 Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning Amazon Prime period comedy-drama series The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. The series follows a housewife in 1958 New York City who discovers she has a knack for stand-up comedy. The series’s pilot premiered as a part of Amazon Studio’s spring pilot season on March 17, 2017, to critical acclaim, and was picked up by Amazon for a two-season order on April 10, 2017. It was renewed for a third season on May 20, 2018, before the second season was released. Filming will take place in NYC beginning the end of March through mid September.
A casting call has gone out seeking the following to work on the series as background and possible featured talent:
- CASINO TYPES – Seeking SAG/AFTRA and NONUNION Men & Women, Ages 18-99, all ethnicities, to portray 1960s upscale casino types. Tentative Shoot Dates: 5/8, 5/9, 5/10, 5/12, 5/17, 5/20, 5/21 (filming in Astoria, Queens). Please note 5/12 is a Sunday and is Mother’s Day. Must have full day availability for all the shoot dates. - SOLDIER TYPES – Seeking 1950s US solider types. Ages 18-40s. All ethnicities. Men must be okay getting a 1950s military haircut and being clean shaven. Please put “FACEBOOK MAISEL SOLDIERS” in the email subject line.
- MEN & WOMEN – Seeking SAG/AFTRA and NONUNION Men & Women, Ages 18-99, all ethnicities. Needed to play 1950s & early 1960s types. Men must be okay getting a 1950s haircut and being clean shaven. Women must have shoulder length hair or shorter or be willing to have it cut by our hair dept. Women must have natural hair color, no highlights, weaves, braids, bayalage, ombre or wear a wig. (Women the hair styles we are specifically looking for are: pixie cuts, bobs, long bobs, and shoulder length). *All must be comfortable working around atmospheric smoke. No wool allergies.
