Savant-like ability to hear music wherever he is. Boy soprano. Must sing well. ALL ETHNICITIES. MUST PLAY EITHER GUITAR OR PIANO, IDEALLY BOTH.
- [LYLA NOVACEK] – Early/Mid-Twenties Woman, any ethnicity. Professional Cellist. Beautiful. Long-lost mother to Evan Taylor. Longing for more independence from the strict lifestyle her father has planned for her, she sometimes exhibits a bold and determined demeanor. Pop Rock Soprano. Must sing well. MUST PLAY CELLO.
- [LEWIS CHAPMAN] – Early/Mid-Twenties Man, Person of Color. Free-spirited. Indie rock singer with rock-star charisma. Handsome/Sexy. Falls in love with Lyla Novacek and is the long-lost father to Evan Taylor. ESPECIALLY SEEKING ACTORS OF COLOR. MUST PLAY GUITAR WELL. MUST HAVE WIDE RANGE TERRIFIC POP/ROCK VOICE. - [WIZARD/THOMAS NOVACEK] – Forties-Sixties Man, any ethnicity. WIZARD: The Villain. Leader of a mystical-musical cult of buskers called “The Collective,” offering a home and spiritual inspiration to his followers. A supernatural, glam- rock, confidence man. Charming, alluring, and dangerous. ALSO PLAYS THOMAS NOVACEK:. Lyla’s strict father and a man of undying principal often to a fault. While at times harsh towards Lyla, he ultimately loves and cares for her deeply. Must sing well. MUST PLAY AN INSTRUMENT.
- [HOPE] – Any ethnicity, mid-twenties woman. The embodiment of music. A mythological and spiritual figure who guides EVAN/AUGUST and other characters on their journey. ESPECIALLY SEEKING ACTRESSES OF COLOR. MUST PLAY THE VIOLIN.

All actors must play an instrument at a very high level; please bring your instrument with you to this EPA and be prepared to play a short piece highlighting skill and technique. In addition to instruments listed in the breakdowns, we are also looking for 2nd instruments of: ACCORDION, TIMPANI, GLOCK, MARIMBA, LAP DULCIMER, SITAR, HAND PERCUSSION, SAXAPHONE/BARITONE SAXAPHONE.
