Open Casting Call for Sony Pictures Feature ‘A Man Called Otto’

An open casting call was announced seeking Buffalo, NY locals for the upcoming Sony Pictures feature film  “A Man Called Otto” a comedy starring Tom Hanks, Rachel Keller and Cameron Britton. The feature is said to be an English-language remake based on the Swedish book and film “A Man Called Ove,” which follows a cranky retired man who strikes up an unlikely friendship with his boisterous new neighbors.

Filming is currently taking place in and around Buffalo, NY. According to Buffalo Niagara Film Commissioner Tim Clark, filming for a large movie is scheduled to take around the Niagra Falla area this week through Friday May 6th.

Casting Buffalo has put out a local casting call for extras and stand-ins for some scenes that will be filmed on location. The casting director is seeking the following area locals to work on the feature and are advising those who are interested to send in your submissions ASAP.

  • GENERAL EXTRAS – They are seeking lots of diversity, all ethnicities, all genders, all backgrounds Ages 18 and older. In keeping with the productions committment to diversity, equity and inclusion, casting will be reflecting that pledge.
  • MALE STANDIN – Caucasian, short dark hair, Age 18 to 40, Height: 6’1, Weight: 205 lbs, Waist 39, Inseam 31.5.
  • FEMALE STANDIN – Caucasian, Shouder Length Short Light Brown Hair, Height: 5’5, Weight: 130 lbs, that is shoulder length, Bust 33.5, Waist 27, Pant 4, Dress 2.
