Open Casting Call for Netflix’s ’13 Reasons Why’
An open casting call has been scheduled in the Bay area for the controversial Netflix drama series 13 Reasons Why. The series stars Dylan Minnette, Katherine Langford, Christian Navarro Derek Luke and Kate Walsh and revolves around a high school student, Clay Jensen, and his friend, Hannah Baker, who committed suicide after suffering a series of demoralizing circumstances, brought on by select individuals at her school. A box of cassette tapes recorded by Hannah before her suicide details thirteen reasons why she ended her life. The series is based on the 2007 novel by Jay Asher has been picked up for a second season and its production is currently seeking people who appear high school-aged to play student athletes including football players, cheerleaders, and boxers. They’re also looking for adults or people of any age to play coffee shop guests, high school teachers, and parents.
Filming will be taking place around the Vallejo, San Rafael, and Sebastopol area. This is an open call and they are specifically seeking people to play extras and stand-ins for SAG & non-union paid positions.

Those attending to audition should bring a photo or headshot, and those under the age of 18 must already possess or get a California Entertainment Work Permit. Additionally, men trying out for a high school student role should arrive clean shaven. An online talent registration form is also available to fill out ahead of time. Please also bring a pen and proper identification with you to fill out paperwork.
