Open Casting Call for Feature Film ‘Greyhound’

An open casting call has been scheduled for the upcoming Sony Pictures WWII drama, Greyhound. The film will star Academy-Award winner Tom Hanks who also scripted the feature. Hanks’ Playtone partner Gary Goetzman will produce and Aaron Schneider (Get Low) will direct. The story follows George Kraus (Hanks),  a career Navy officer finally given command of a Navy destroyer USS Greyhound where, along with the enemy he fights his self-doubts and personal demons to prove he belongs.  The story takes place as the Greyhound is escorting a military convoy across the Atlantic Ocean in 1942, when the shipping lanes between America and its European allies were imperiled by German submarines. Hanks adapted the script from the novel “The Good Shepherd,” published in 1955 by C.S. Forester.  Filming will be taking place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Central Casting has scheduled an open casting call seeking submissions for men and women (18+ years old) to play the following:

  • STAND-INS – Seeking submissions for Caucasian looking Males, 18 years old or older, to Stand-in on this project. Stand-in Experience is preferred!  Must be willing to be clean shaven. The work dates are not yet finalized, but filming will take place from March to late April. You must be available to attend a camera test in Baton Rouge on Thursday, March 1st.  Write “Stand-in” in the email subject line.
