A casting has gone out seeking various talent to work on the upcoming sixth season of the Showtime television drama series Billions. The series stars Academy Award nominee Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis and was created by Brian Koppleman, David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin. It premiered on Showtime on January 17th 2016. The series is loosely based on the activities of crusading federal prosecutor of financial crimes Preet Bharara, the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and his legal battles with hedge fund manager Steve Cohen of S.A.C. Capital Advisors. In October 2020, the series was renewed for a sixth season. The fifth season resumes airing on September 5, 2021.
Filming is currently taking place in Albany, NY. The casting director is currently seeking brand new fresh faced NON-UNION and SAG-AFTRA talent who have never worked on the series in previous season to play background extras, standins, photo doubles and possible featured talent. It is important to note before submitting for their current casting needs that BILLIONS has adopted a mandatory vaccination policy. Zone A employees (eg. background actors) must be fully vaccinated in order to be employed on this production. Such a requirement is subject to reasonable accommodations, as required by law, for individuals who cannot be vaccinated due to disability or sincerely held religious belief, practice or observance. Any requests for exemptions must be vetted by ViacomCBS prior to employment.
At the present time they are currently seeking the following specific types:
- GOVERNMENT WORKERS – Seeking SAG-AFTRA/NONUNION Men and Women to portray Senators, Aides and goverment worker types. Films Weds. 9/29 & Thurs 9/30. COVID Test Tues. 9/28. Please put “ALBANY LOCALS FLYER” in email subject line.
- KIDS & PARENTS – Seeking NONUNION Tweens and Teens ages 12-15 years old and their Parents to portray families at a fair. Work Date will be 9/1, 9/2 or 9/3. This will be an exterior night shoot (filming until 12:30am for minors). All minors must have a valid NY child performer work permit and trust account (or be willing to set up.). Mandatory COVID testing will be 1 day before the shoot date. Guardians must also receive COVID Testing! Testing in Brooklyn.
