Production is set to get underway shortly on season 3 of the HBO drama series The Deuce. The series tells the story of the legalization and ensuing rise of the porn industry in New York beginning in the 1970s. Themes explored include the violence of the drug epidemic and the resulting real estate booms and busts that coincided with the change. The series stars James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Chris Bauer and Gary Carr. Created and written by author and former police reporter David Simon and his frequent collaborator George Pelecanos the series pilot began shooting in October 2015. It was picked up to series in January 2016. On September 20, 2018, HBO renewed the series for a third and final season. Shooting is taking place in NYC. Filming will commence in February through July 2019.
The casting directors over at Grant Wilfley Casting are seeking the following types to work on the series as background extras, stand-ins, photo doubles and possible featured talent:
- DRAG-TRANSGENDER TYPES – Seeking NON-UNION Men to portray 1980s Harlem Drag Ball types for a dance party scene. Will need to be in full drag for this scene. Fitting on 3/27, 3/28, or 3/29! - BOYS & GIRLS – Seeking NON-UNION Caucasian Boys and Girls (ages 11-14yrs) to portray 1980s Kids making their Confirmation. This scene is a church scene. Although the series is based heavily in adult content this scene will NOT contain any of this material! Works 3/11. Please put “FACEBOOK, CONFIRMATION KIDS.” in the email subject line.
- TWIN BOYS – Seeking SAG or Non-Union Caucasian Twin Boys ages 12-16 months to portray the featured 14 month old son of principal actors. Should have brown or darker blonde hair. Works 2/21. Please write in the subject line: “FACEBOOK, TWIN BOYS.”
- PEDESTRIAN TYPES – Seeking SAG & NON-UNION Men and Women, ages 18+, all ethnicities to portray 1985 Pedestrians. This is for possible ongoing season work. Please read: They are specifically seeking women with layered hair, face framing, bangs, curly hair, etc! Braids, afros, and dreads are all ok! NO ombre, balayage, pastels, or very modern styles. Men, they are seeking men with medium length to long hair, mullets, rat tails, flat tops, fades, afros, Jheri curl. Braids and dreadlocks are ok! NO shaved sides, pastels, or very modern styles.
