A casting call has gone out seeking various types to work on the upcoming Netflix feature film Uglies. Which will be an adaptation of Scott Westerfield’s international bestselling novel of the same name that was first published in 2005 that later spawned many sequels. The story is set in a world in which a compulsory operation at 16 wipes out physical differences and makes everyone pretty by conforming to an ideal standard of beauty. Set to star is Joey King (The Kissing Booth) who will also executive produce, Keith Powers, Brianne Tju and Chase Stokes. Krista Vernoff will adapt the script. John Davis and Jordan Davis will produce for Davis Entertainment Company along with Robyn Mesinger for Anonymous Content, Dan Spilo for Industry Entertainment and McG and Mary Viola for their Wonderland banner.
Filming is taking place in and around the Atlanta, GA area. The casting director is currently seeking the following to work on the feature as paid background, stabndins, photo doubles and possible featured talent:
- FIDDLER PLAYER – Seeking a Fiddle player. Age 18 – early 20’s. Must be able to provide your own fiddle and play – must know how to read music. COVID Test 11/9. Films 11/11. Please put FIDDLE THURSDAY in email subject line.

- SHIRTLESS MALE MODEL – Seeking Young Male model type. Any ethnicity. Must be 18+ to submit, must be able to portray age 15-16. Will work various dates starting Friday October 15. Please put SHIRTLESS in your email subject line.
