Actress Jennifer Carpenter is set to return to the upcoming Showtime limited revival series Dexter. According to the HollywoodReporter, Jennifer Carpenter will star alongside her famed lead costar Michael C. Hall, who is set to reprise his role as the titular vigilante serial killer. Original series showrunner Clyde Phillips will also return for the series revival. Carpenter, who played Dexter Morgan’s sister, Deb Morgan, for all eight seasons of the original Showtime series was famously killed off in the 2013 series finale.

Showtime’s 10-episode revival is set 10 years after Dexter went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura. The character who went into a self-imposed exile is now living under an assumed name in Upstate New York — far from his original home in Miami. Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall will executive produce alongside John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Bill Carraro, Scott Reynolds and Marcos Siega, the latter of whom will direct six of the 10 episodes.

Since wrapping Dexter — her first TV series regular role — Carpenter’s credits have included Limitless and The Enemy Within.

The Dexter revival is expected to debut in the fall on Showtime.
