Production is currently underway on the upcoming HBO miniseries The Plot Against America, a six-part miniseries based on the acclaimed novel by Philip Roth. Set to star are Winona Ryder, Zoe Kazan, Morgan Spector, Anthony Boyle, Azhy Robertson, John Turturro and Caleb Malis. Frequent collaborators David Simon and Ed Burns will serve as executive producers. The period piece story centers in alternate American history told through the eyes of a working-class Jewish family in New Jersey as they watch the political rise of Charles Lindbergh, an aviator-hero and xenophobic populist who becomes president and turns the nation toward fascism.
Filming is taking place in and around the NYC and New Jersey areas through much of Summer 2019. Grant Wilfley Casting is currently seeking the following types to work on the project as paid background extras and possible featured roles:
- FUNERAL ATTENDEES – Seeking NON-UNION AFRICAN-AMERICAN & CAUCASIAN MEN & WOMEN (18+) TO PORTRAY IRISH, JEWISH, & WORKING CLASS TYPE FUNERAL ATTENDEES. Fitting on 8/13 in Long Island City. - HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS – Seeking SAG-AFTRA & NONUNION teens 14 to 17 years of age to play high school students. Boys must be comfortable with a 1940s style haircut (longer on top; trimmed sides and back). Girls must be comfortable with a 1940s haircut (above breast length). No highlights! NO BRACES!
