A casting call has gone out seeking talent for the upcoming Universal Pictures romantic comedy Marry Me starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson. According to Variety, the movie is based on a graphic novel by Bobby Crosby and centers on a pop star (Lopez) who, moments before marrying her rockstar fiance at Madison Square Garden, finds out that he cheated on her with her assistant. She breaks down on stage and picks a random man — a math teacher played by Wilson — out of the crowd to marry instead. Colombian singer/rapper Maluma has joined the cast and will play the fiance to Lopez’s pop star character.
Filming is scheduled to begin in NYC beginning in October. The casting directors are currently seeking the following to work on the feature as paid background talent, standins and possible featured talent:
- AUDIENCE MEMBERS – Seeking SAG-AFTRA & NON UNION Men & Women, 20s-40s age range, all ethnicities to portray audience members at a concert. Shoot dates are 10/23, 10/24, & 10/25. Interior work (late fall season wardrobe). Full day availability is required. Some of these days may film late! Atmospheric smoke may be used in this scene! - PHOTO DOUBLES – Seeking SAG-AFTRA & NON UNION girls ages 9-13 for photo double work. Height should be 4’4- 4’8. Shoot date(s) are 10/23, 10/24 and 10/25. Please put “FACEBOOK KID PD” in the email subject line.
- TWEENS & TEENS – Seeking SAG-AFTRA & NON UNION boys & girls (ages 12-17 yrs old) to portray middle and high school students. Please do not submit to this particular posting if you are over 18 years old. This is for minors ages 12-17 only. Please put “FACEBOOK STUDENTS (MINORS)” in the email subject line.
