A casting call has gone out seeking various talent for the upcoming prequel Power Book III: Raising Kanan a spinoff series of the STARZ crime drama hit Power. According to Deadline, in addition to Raising Kanan, three others Power spinoffs are in the works: Power Book II: Ghost, starring singer/actress Mary J. Blige premiered on September 6, 2020. Power Book IV: Influence, starring Larenz Tate as politician Rashad Tate; and Power Book V: Force, starring Joseph Sikora as Tommy Egan. The story for Raising Kanan is set in the 1990s, and will chronicle the early years of Kanan Stark, the character first played by executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
Filming is taking place in NYC and parts of Queens. The casting director is currently seeking the following to work on the series as paid background extras, standins, and possible featured talent.
- HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS – Seeking SAG and NONUNION young adults, Ages 18+ to portray high school students. Works 3/7. Mandatory COVID testing 3/1 or 3/2. Please put “Facebook, 18TLY HS STUDENT” in the email subject line.

- DEBUTANTE BALL ATTENDEES – Seeking SAG and NON-UNION young adults, Ages 17 to early20’s to portray 1990’s teen attendees at debutante ball. Works Friday 2/26. Mandatory COVID test 2/24. Must be local to NYC tri-state area. Must be lawfully able to work in the U.S. Please put “FACEBOOK DEB BALL”
