Production is now underway up the upcoming Showtime drama pilot Queen Fur. Set to star is Lily Mae Harrington (Freaks and Geeks, Glee Project finalist) as Macy Dunleavy – a high school dropout who is finding her womanhood and is ready to seize a big opportunity. The story is set in a small town in Central Florida where beauty pageants, gun culture, Cuban revolutionaries and Southern hospitality co-exist and collide. Eileen Myers (Masters of Sex) will executive produce. In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Showtime president of programming Gary Levine said, “Eileen has created a uniquely twisted female empowerment story that surprises at every turn.” “I am confident that Lily Mae Harrington, playing this feisty, sexually confident, gun-toting underdog, will have audiences laughing, gasping and, ultimately, cheering for her!”
Filming is taking place in the Monroe and Covington GA areas beginning the very end of this month through September. The casting director is currently seeking the following to work on the series as paid extras, background talent, photo doubles stand-ins and possible featured talent:
- FESTIVAL GOERS – Seeking Men and Women, Ages 18 to 85, Any ethnicity, to portray festival goers. This is a key scene in the first episode so they need men and women of ALL ages for this! Works 9/7. - HISPANIC MEN – Seeking HISPANIC MEN, Ages 18 to 60 with EXPERIENCE in Construction/House building. You must have You must have good work clothes (work boots, work pants/jeans, etc…) for this scene. Works 8/27 & 8/28. Please put “HOUSE BUILDER” in the email subject line.
- YOUNG MUSICIANS – Seeking YOUNG Male Musicians, Any ethnicity, Ages 18 to 25 with Keyboard or Guitars. Needed to be playing their instruments at a Festival scene (miming to playback) but still the real experience is needed. Works 9/7.
