Production is set to begin soon o the upcoming 4th season of the Amazon Studios period comedy-drama The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. A casting call has gone out seeking men and women to work on the series as paid background and possible featured talent. The series which stars Rachel Brosnahan as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a housewife in 1958 New York City who discovers she has a knack for stand-up comedy was renewed for a 4th season on December 12, 2019. The series also stars Alex Borstein, Jane Lynch, Michael Zegen, Marin Hinkle, Tony Shalhoub and Kevin Pollak in supporting roles.
Filming takes in place in and around the NYC area with most shoot dates to be filmed at their stages in Brooklyn. Filming is scheduled to begin in January 2021 through June 2021. At the present time the casting director is seeking the following:
- SOPHIA LOREN TYPES – Seeking SAG & NON UNION Women, Ages 18-40, to portray 1960s Sophia Loren types. Tentative shoot dates are 6/23, 6/24 & 6/28 (must be available and reliable for all 3 days!) . - REAL HAIR STYLISTS – Seeking NONUNION African-American hair stylists, Ages 18-99. Must have real experience as a hair stylist. Keep in mind this is a period piece show so your look must reflect. No fashion colors. No wigs. No weaves. No braids. No undercuts. No ombré or unnatural looking highlights. No roots if hair is colored. Hair must be above the shoulders, it cannot touch the shoulders. If hair touches shoulders, it will need to be cut by our hair dept. Short hair is ok. Any texture is ok. Gray hair on more mature women is great. NO TATTOOS FOR WOMEN! - REAL BUTCHERS – Seeking NONUNION Men, 18-99. Must have real experience as a butcher and be able to cut raw meat on camera. - CARNEGIE HALL PATRONS – Seeking NON UNION Men & Women to portray 1960s, Ages 18-99, Carnegie Hall Patrons. Must be okay working around atmospheric smoke. No wool allergies. Tentative shoot dates are 6/23-6/25. Please put “FACEBOOK CARNEGIE HALL” in the email subject line.

- BOY – Seeking SAG-AFTRA or NON UNION Caucasian boys ages 7-13 to portray a younger version of principal actor. This is for a photo shoot-scene is 1930s. Tentative shoot date is 6/7 with COVID test and fitting ahead of time. Please put “FACEBOOK 1930s KIDS” in the email subject line.
- REAL COOKS AND DISHWASHERS – Seeking African American & Latino, Ages 18-99, for background work. Must be okay working around atmospheric smoke. Fall wardrobe. Men must be okay getting a 1960s haircut if needed and being clean shaven on the shoot date. Women’s hair requirements are as follows: No fashion colors. No wigs. No weaves. No braids. No undercuts. No ombré or unnatural looking highlights. No roots if hair is colored. Hair must be above the shoulders, it cannot touch the shoulders. If hair touches shoulders, it will need to be cut by our hair dept. Short hair is ok. Any texture is ok. Gray hair on more mature women is great. NO TATTOOS FOR WOMEN! Men cannot have any visible tattoos that won’t be covered in a suit. Tentative shoot date 6/4 with a covid test on 6/2 & 6/3 must be available all dates.
