Casting Call for Season 2 of FX Series ‘The Bear’

Production is currently underway on the upcoming second season of the FX drama-comedy series The Bear. premiered on Hulu on June 23, 2022, and stars Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas and Abby Elliot.  On July 2022, it was renewed for a second season, which is set to premiere in mid-2023 and consist of 10 episodes. The story follows a young chef from the world of fine dining comes home to Chicago to run his family’s Italian beef sandwich shop after the suicide of his older brother, who left behind debts, a rundown kitchen, and an unruly staff.

Filming is taking place in the Chicagoland area and will continue through mid-April. At the present time the casting director is seeking the following to work on the series as paid background actors, standins, photodoubles and possible featured talent:

  • REAL MINOR & MOM – Seeking Caucasian or Hispanic Female, Age Age 25+ and Minor Caucasian or Hispanic Male or Female, Ages 3 to 5 years old. COVID TEST: FRI. 3/10. FILMING DATE: MON. 3/13. Please put “REAL MINOR” in email subject line.
  • GENERAL EXTRAS – Seeking Men, Women and Children Ages 7 through 80 to work on the series as paid background.
  • CHILD – Seeking an African American female child age 7-11 years old. Must have work permit. Must have POP profile. Please put “YOUNG SYD” in email subject line.
  • VEHICLES – Seeking car owners with upscale wagons preferrably 2010’s models. Must be in working condition to be considered. Please send in photos of your vehicle along with make, model and year.

To be considered, you and/or child must have a POP Profile. To create a profile, click the following links below and then follow the instructions on sending the submission e-mail:

If you already have a POP profile, the parent may continue with the submission email. Make sure that your child’s photos and sizes are up-to-date before submitting it.

Send an email to extras4thebear@gmail.com with the following:

1) Make sure email suject line has appropriate role heading

2) In the submission email include name, age, (especially for the minors, must be in the age range specified above), height, weight, city and zip, phone, email of your child.

3) You must provide us with you or your child’s sizes.

4) Attach a candid photo AND a full body in JPEG format. Make sure the photo is taken in decent lighting and make sure they can see face. You should have a minimum of THREE photos in you and/or your child’s profile, including CURRENT LOOK: FRONT (FACE), RECENT NON-PRO BODY SHOT (FULL BODY), AND CURRENT LOOK: BACK (THIS IS TO SEE WHAT YOUR CHILD’S HAIR AND BODY FRAME LOOK LIKE FROM BEHIND WHICH IS OFTEN HOW PHOTO DOUBLES ARE FILMED). All photos MUST be CURRENT.

5) A scanned copy or photo of current 4 Star Casting (or talent agency) work permit must be sent in submissions of minors. No exceptions!

6) Please confirm your mode of transportation, i.e. Uber, Bus, Own Vehicle, etc.

7) Confirm that your children and guardian(s) on set are willing to take Covid-19 tests as needed during filming. The same guardian(s) that will be on set must be the same Covid testing prior to being on set. Typically the testing schedule is 1-3 days prior to the filming date.

General Information regarding our Minors Portal for POP:

The process is slightly different – you will need to visit their website at www.4starcasting.com to upload your child’s information to the minors’ POP portal.

NOTE: This season, The Bear is a NON-MANDATED VACCINE PRODUCTION, which means there is no vaccination requirement. YOU ARE STILL REQUIRED TO COVID TEST PRIOR TO FILMING OR WARDROBE FITTING DATES JUST LIKE ALWAYS. We will not ask about your vaccination status, BUT if it is your own desire to disclose that information to 4 Star Casting and Health & Safety, you are welcome to do so. Please keep in mind, MASKS are going to be required at ALL TIMES unless filming or eating/drinking, social distancing is going to be recommended as much as possible, and you will still have to follow ALL Covid protocols this show asks.
