A casting call has gone out seeking men and women to work on the upcoming Pop TV network scripted series Florida Girls. According to Deadline, Pop has given a 10-episode series order to Florida Girls as a half-hour original scripted comedy pilot from The Mick writer-producer Laura Chinn. Lionsgate TV, Jax Media and 3 Arts Entertainment. Chinn created, executive produces and stars in the series, slated to begin production the end of this month. Pop TV is a satellite cable television network owned and operated by the CBS corporation and Lionsgate Entertainment.
Florida Girls, inspired by Chinn’s life, is a female-centered series in front and behind the camera. The story focuses on four girls living in Small Town, Florida who confront their stagnant lives when their only ambitious friend moves away to follow her dreams. It follows the four girlfriends who are partying under the poverty line while navigating very relatable problems as they try to better their situations. Filming will take place in Savannah, GA.
The casting director is currently seeking Men and Women, Ages 18+ to work on the series as paid background and possible featured talent. At the present time, they are currently seeking the following:
- BBQ GUESTS – Seeking African American Men & Women, Ages 18+ to portray guests at a barbecue for a Chunky Sunday scene. This scene will film exterior on Tuesday 11/27 and Wednesday 11/28.
- LOW-RIDER TYPE CARS – Seeking suped-up and pimped out low-rider type cars. Please send in make/model/year and a least two photos of your vehicle. Works 11/27 & 11/28.
