Casting Call for Netflix Drama Series ‘The Chair’

Filming is currently underway on the upcoming Netflix dramady series The Chair. Back in December 2020, the Pittsburgh Film Office announced that the Netflix series which will star Golden-Globe winner Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve” and “Grey’s Anatomy”), Holland Taylor (“2 and A Half Men”, “Bombshell” and “The Stand In”) and Jay Duplass (“Transparent”), would be filming in the Pittsburgh region in the new year. The show is written and co-created by Amanda Peet, mostly known for her acting work, and executive produced by “Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff (Ms. Peet’s husband) and D.B. Weiss.

The story follows the trials and tribulations of the chair of an English department at a major university. Filming is taking place in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh, PA. The casting directors are seeking on-Union men and women to work on the series as paid core background. Must have full availability between 1/28 thru 3/26.

SEEKING:

  • College Professor Types – Men & Women, ages 45 – 65, all ethnicities. Must have business professional clothing. Must have all day availability. Required PCR COVID-test to be scheduled each week on an off day.
  • College Student Types – Men & Women, ages 18-25, seeking all ethnicities. Anyone interested must be available Jan. 28-March 26. Required PCR COVID-test to be scheduled each week on an off day.
  • Stand-in 1: Asian female — 25-55. 5’4.5-5’5.5. Black hair.
  • Stand-in 2: Caucasian male — 30-55. 5’8-5’9. Lean frame. Shaggy dark brown or black hair.
