A casting call has gone out seeking various types from babies to adults to work on the upcoming Warner Bros. reboot Father of the Bride. The film is being directed by Gaz Alazraki and will revolve around a Cuban-American family led by Andy Garcia and also starring Gloria Estefan and Adria Arjona. According to Deadline, the feature written by Matt Lopez, will tell the story of a father coming to grips with his daughter’s upcoming wedding through the prism of multiple relationships within a big, sprawling Cuban-American family. Murciano, whose recent credits include Amazon’s Tell Me Your Secrets, will play Junior, who is Garcia’s cousin and has been divorced four times so he acts as a confidant who knows all about weddings and marriages. Dede Garner and Jeremy Kleiner are producing the project for Plan B Entertainment, while Garcia will serve as exec producer.
Filming is taking place in and around the Atlanta, GA area. The casting director is seeking all types to work on the feature as paid background, standins, photodoubles and possible featured talent. At the present time they are currently looking to cast the following:
- WEDDING/YACHT GUESTS (FRIENDS/FAMILY) – Seeking Males and Females, age range 18-80, able to portray Latinx and Spanish European types. Must be upscale, stylish-fashion forward, classy. You would be family & friends of very wealthy Miami Cuban families. Initial Covid Test: Tues 7/6 or Weds 7/7 (one date required). Fitting: Thurs 7/8 or Fri 7/9 (one date required) Covid Retest: Mon 7/12 (required – can also be optional work date) Filming: Tues 7/13, Weds 7/14, Thurs 7/15, Fri 7/16 (required). Final COVID Test: 7/19 for second filming dates: Weds 7/21, Thurs 7/22 (required). Please note that you MUST be available for all dates listed as required, one initial test date and one fitting date. This will be a recurring featured role that will require continuity between several scenes and work dates so they need people who can commit to being a part of this family group. - SALSA DANCERS – Seeking SALSA DANCERS all ethnicities able to play age range 20s and over who are experienced Salsa Dancers or those who like to go to salsa nightclubs and can dance a little bit. Cuban style salsa dancing. Would love to book couples or people who have a regular dance partner that they salsa dance with, but also booking fun individuals who like to dance and have a good time. - HISPANIC BABIES – Seeking Hispanic/ Latinx Twin or Triplet Babies ages 0-2yrs. Can be boy and girl but must be willing to portray opposite gender. COVID Test: Monday 6/22 & 7/19.
