Production is now underway on the Universal Pictures movie adaptation of “Dear Evan Hansen” a Tony Award winning musical, opened on Broadway in 2016. The story follows a high school student with social anxiety who gets caught up in a lie after the family of a classmate who committed suicide mistakes one of Hansen’s letters for their son’s suicide note. Set to star are Amandla Stenberg, Colton Ryan and Nik Dodani. The Universal project, produced by Marc Platt and Adam Siegel, will feature a screenplay by Levenson.
Filming will be taking place in and around the Atlanta, GA area. The casting director is seeking all types to work on the project as paid background talent, standins, photodoubles and possible featured talent. At the present time the following are needed:
- HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT/TEACHER/PARENT TYPES – Seeking student and faculty types, Ages 18 to 60, ALL ethnicities for their School scenes. Works 11/11, 11/12, 11/16 and 11/18. You must be available next week on for COVID. Email subject line: “SCHOOL DAYS”
