Want to be part of one of the NBA’s winning teams?  The Brooklynettes Dance Team auditions for the 2017-18 NBA season have been scheduled for June and this is your chance to come out and audition to join!

BROOKLYNETTES AUDITIONS

SATURDAY, JUNE 10th 2017 AT LIU BROOKLYN  – The Arnold and Marie Schwartz Center – 1 University Plaza, Brooklyn, NY
Doors open at 10:00AM – Audition begins promptly at 11:00AM

 

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 or older and have extensive training in hip hop and jazz styles
  • Tumbling skills are a plus, but not required
  • Wear two-piece attire and non-marking sneakers
  • Midriff and legs must be exposed; no tights
  • Arrive in glamorous, performance-ready hair and makeup
  • Select dancers from the open call will be invited to attend callback auditions on Sunday, June 11 at Barclays Center
  • Finalists must be available the evenings of June 12 and June 13
  • Special Guest Judges will be in attendance throughout the week, including celebrity choreographer and Bloc Talent Agency’s Fatima Wilson

POST SEASON WORKSHOP

Tuesday, May 9, 6:30PM – 9:30PM

Mark Morris Dance Group – 3 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn, NY

*Registration begins at 6:00PM and class begins promptly at 6:30PM

  • Open to dancers ages 18 and up
  • Learn choreography straight from center court from the Brooklynettes
  • Receive a $25 discount from our new exclusive Audition Prep Series Workshop

NEW AUDITION PREP SERIES (4 SESSION PACKAGE)

Saturday, May 20, 10:00AM & Sunday, May 21, 10:00AM

The Arnold and Marie Schwartz Center – 1 University Plaza, Brooklyn, NY

*Get a chance to go through the real Brooklynettes audition process

Day 1/Session 1:

  • Learn the first round across the floor/technique audition choreography
  • Learn Brooklynettes audition style combo (Hip Hop)

Day 1/Session 2:

  • Learn Brooklynettes audition style combo (Street Jazz)
  • Receive professional insight from members of the team and audition tips from Brooklynettes Coach/Choreographer Adar Wellington

Day 2/Session 1:

  • Individual mock one-on-one interview sessions with Entertainment Director Criscia Long & Coach Adar Wellington
  • Learn the Audition Athletic Combo
  • Review Day 1 Choreography

Day 2/Session 2:

  • Formation/Staging/Freestyle prep session
  • Receive an exclusive Brooklynettes tank top
  • 4 Dancers will be chosen to automatically advance to round 2 of the Brooklynettes Auditions
  • 2 Dancers will be selected and signed to Bloc Talent Agency
  • $150 for the series
  • Participants must attend both days
