After many questions were raised about the status of creator’s role in hit horror anthology series, FX has renewed American Horror Story for season 10. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the renewal puts to rest any questions about the future of FX’s franchise program after Murphy sent shock waves through the industry with his decision to exit his longtime home at 20th Century Fox Television — which produces AHS — for a $300 million deal at Netflix.

The series which was created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk was conceived as a self-contained miniseries that follows a different set of characters and settings, and a storyline with its own “beginning, middle, and end.” Some plot elements of each season are loosely inspired by true events. Although,  reception to the series varied from season to season, the series has always been well-received by television critics and has earned 15 Emmys, A Golden Globe and a SAG Award and draws consistent high ratings for the FX network.

At the present time, American Horror Story is currently in production on it’s eighth installment of the series as part of a two-season pickup.  The upcoming eighth season of American Horror Story: Apocalypse, premieres September 12th 2018.
