Production is currently underway on the upcoming Netflix black superhero family drama series Raising Dion. The series is based on the commercial and music video director Dennis Liu’s short film about an African-American single mother who discovers her young son has multiple, constantly changing abilities. According to Deadline, the project comes from Liu, Creed star Michael B. Jordan, who will have a supporting role, veteran showrunner Carol Barbee (UnReal, Judging Amy), writer-producer Michael Green (American Gods, Logan) and Charles D. King’s MARCO (Fences). Set to also star in the series are Jason Ritter, Alisha Wainwright, Jazmyn Simon and Ja’Siah Young as Dion Reese, Nicole’s super-powered son.
Filming is taking place in and around the Atlanta, GA area beginning the end of July through February 2019. Netflix has given a 10-episode straight-to-series order to hourlong sci-fi, family drama, and the casting director has scheduled an open casting call seeking minors of all ethnicities between the ages of 6 and 12 to work on the series as paid background extras, stand-ins, photo doubles and possible featured talent.

You must come into register during the above dates to be considered. Minors must bring 2 forms of valid photo identification to fill out the I-9 forms. Dress accordingly for how you would like to be seen by casting directors.
