A casting call has gone out for the upcoming HBO series “The Righteous Gemstones” starring John Goodman and Danny McBride. Filming will be taking place in Charleston, SC beginning this week through mid August. Danny McBride is the creator of the program as well as writer, director and executive producer. The story explores the world of the Gemstone televangelist family with a history of greed and deviance and a little bit of charitable work thrown in for good measure.
The extras casting director at Tona B. Dahlquist is seeking at least 1,500 people to be booked for filming during these next few weeks. All positions are paid.
The following are specifically needed:
- Waitstaff & Patrons – Seeking Men and Women, Ages 18+, ANY ETHNICITY to play waitstaff and restaurant patrons. Works 7/25.
- Church Congregation Members – Seeking Men & Women of Hispanic/Latino, Indian, Asian, and African American Races for Congregation Scenes. Works Friday 7/27 and Monday 7/30.
- Deacons & Rural Ministers – Seeking about 12 Males, Ages 35-65, ANY ETHNICITY. Must be available to work 7/24, 7/25, 7/30 & 7/31. Please put MINISTER AVAIL. in the email subject line.
- Party Girl – Seeking Female, Age 18+, ALL RACES to play party girl. Must be comfortable being topless. Special Pay Rate. Please send photo of you in a swimsuit. Description of any visible tattoos and piercings. Please put PARTY GIRL in the subject line of your email.

- Money Handlers – Seeking adult Males and Females. ALL RACES. Needed to play experienced MONEY HANDLERS (Bank Tellers, Casino workers, etc..). Should be able to count and sort money quickly. Will be portraying Church staff. Please put MONEY HANDLERS in the subject line of your email.
