Production is set to get underway shortly on the upcoming new Facebook watch series currently titled, Queen America. According to Variety, set to star is Academy Award winner Catherine Zeta-Jones. The half-hour series, which has received a 10-episode straight-to-series-order, is described as a dark comedy set in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It revolves around Vicki Ellis (Zeta-Jones), the most renowned and ruthless pageant coach in the state, and the hapless Samantha Stone, who hopes Vicki can mold her into worthwhile contender for the title of Miss America. Vicki is desperately sought after by young women competing to be Miss America for one reason; she can turn any girl into a winner. But when she gets paired with the beautiful but unpolished Samantha, Vicki’s entire reputation might be at stake. Filming will take place in the Atlanta, GA area beginning June 18th through mid-August.
The extras casting director is seeking the following to work on the series as paid background extras, stand-ins and possible featured talent:
- CAFE PATRONS – Seeking Men and Women to portray cafe patrons, ages 18-25. Works 8/20.
- BAKERY PATRONS – Seeking Men and Women any ethnicity and age to work with your car. No Red, White or Black. Both Downscale Cars & Good Condition Cars Welcomed. When submitting attach a photo of your car and put the year, make and model. Works 8/20.
- BAKERS – Seeking Men and Women ages 30’s-50’s any ethnicity. Works 8/20.
- DRAG QUEENS – Seeking REAL DRAG QUEENS with their own wardrobe, hair, and make-up to work Friday August 17th in the Atlanta area for a drag bar scene. Please put “DRAG QUEEN” in the email subject line.
- DRAG CLUB GOERS – Seeking Men and Women ages 20’s-30’s. COMFORTABLE DANCING. This will be a fun Club scene, so there will most definitely be dancing! They also want club Bartenders: Men ages 20’s-30’s, physically fit, height 5’11”-6’3” ~AND~ Waiters: Men ages 20’s-30’s, physically fit, height 5’9” and taller. Works 8/17.
