Academy Award winner Halle Berry has signed on to star in the third installment of the Lionsgate action series, John Wick 3: Parabellum. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the details of her character haven’t been revealed yet, but sources say she will not be the film’s villain. Halle will star opposite Keanu Reeves in a story that picks up after the events of Chapter 2, which sees Wick, a former assassin who tried and failed to live the quiet life, with a $14 million price tag on his head and an army of bounty-hunting killers on his trail. After killing a member of the shadowy international assassin’s guild, the High Table, John Wick is excommunicado, but the world’s most ruthless hit men and women await his every turn.
The premise for John Wick was conceived by screenwriter Derek Kolstad who began work on a treatment about a retired contract killer coming out to seek vengeance, entitled Scorn.
