Starz has renewed the hit crime drama thriller series Power for a sixth season. The news comes ahead of production wrapping on Season 5, Starz has ordered an additional sixth season with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson set to the direct the S6 premiere episode. The series follows James St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), nicknamed “Ghost”, owner of “Truth”, a popular New York City nightclub. In addition, he is a major player in one of the city’s biggest illegal drug networks. He struggles to balance these two lives, and the balance topples when he realizes he wants to leave the drug ring in order to support his legitimate business. He also has to keep his marriage with Tasha, while pursuing his relationship with Angela.
The show also stars Naturi Naughton, Joseph Sikora, Lela Loran and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson who also serves as executive producer under his production company G-Unit Films and Television, and Canton’s Atmosphere Entertainment MM.
The critically-acclaimed fourth season averaged 9.3 million multiplatform viewers per episode and is the most-watched franchise for Starz, averaging 7.4 million multiplatform viewers for all four seasons. Season 5 will return on Sunday, July 1st 2018 at 9 PM.
