An official casting call has been announced seeking background talent ton the upcoming Universal Pictures feature film, First Man. A look at the life of the astronaut, Neil Armstrong, and the legendary space mission. The feature is based on James Hansen’s biography “First Man: The Life Of Neil A. Armstrong” and tells the story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong during the years 1961-1969. A first-person account, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost — on Armstrong and on America — of one of the most dangerous space missions in history. Armstrong died in 2012 at age 82. Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling will star in the lead role as Neil Armstrong. Damien Chazelle will direct and DreamWorks Pictures will co-finance the film.
Filming is schedule to begin at the end of October and will continue through January 2018 in the Atlanta, GA area. The casting director is currently seeking the following to work on the film as paid background talent. They do not have official shoot dates yet but are gathering pics and info for the director and will be doing invite only casting call. This is a period piece which means haircuts may be required from men.
