CASTING CALL
Life Jacket is seeking a FEMALE SINGER – VOCAL RANGE: D3-D5 – to record a voiceover song (approximately 4 minutes in length) to play in the background of our new musical, THE GORGEOUS NOTHINGS.
We are seeking a female performer who can embody the unique sound, style, and spirit of a 1920s/30s Broadway and torch singer (e.g., Libby Holman, Aileen Stanley, Marion Harris, Adelaide Hall, Ruth Etting, Ethel Waters, Sophie Tucker, Lee Morse, Kate Smith, Jane Green, Vaughn de Leath, Connee Boswell, and Belle Baker). NOTE: We are NOT looking for exact impersonations of these singers; instead, we are looking for performers who can embody their unique spirit and essence.
TIMING:
Auditions, rehearsals, and a recording session (approximately 7 hours in total) will be held between November-December 2022.
PAYMENT:
The artist will be paid a flat fee of $300.
