An official casting call has gone out seeking backround actors for the upcoming Amazon Prime Video limited series The Challenger (filming under the code name “Dragonfly”). The limited series will star Kristen Stewart in which she’ll play Sally Ride, the astronaut and physicist who became the first American woman to fly in space. She did this as part of a NASA space shuttle astronaut class of 1978 that was the first to be diversified and not comprised of all white men.
Spanning the 1970s through the late 1980s, the series will recreate everyday life during this era, including families, neighborhoods, schools, community events, airports, celebrations, memorials and crowds. Filming is set to begin in September in Atlanta, GA areas and will continue through November 2026. The casting director is currently seeking the following:
- Experienced Standins, Ages 18+
- Children and Teens
- Background Actors, Ages 18+
All roles are paid. You must be able to work as a local to Atlanta. No travel, housing, or transportation will be provided by the production. Travel and lodging will not be paid.
