Production is set to get underway next month on Season 2 of the coming-of-age reboot comedy series The Wonder Years. Inspired by the 1988 series of the same title, it stars Elisha “EJ” Williams as Dean Williams, and follows his life as he grows up in Montgomery, Alabama, in the late 1960s. The series also stars Don Cheadle, narrating the series as adult Dean Williams, Dulé Hill, Saycon Sengbloh, , Laura Kariuki, Julian Lerner, Amari O’Neil, and Milan Ray. Fred Savage served as an executive producer and director for the series’ first season. Lee Daniels, Saladin K. Patterson, Marc Velez, and Bob Daily executive produce. The series is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios. On May 2022, the series was renewed for a second season
Filming will be taking place in and around the Atlanta, GA area and will shoot from Early September to late December, so there will be lots of opportunity to work on the show. The casting director is currently seeking the following to work on the series as paid background, photo-doubles, standins and possible featured talent:
- KIDS – Seeking Minors/Teens 12-17 years, any ethnicity, male and female. DO NOT NEED TO BE REGISTERED WITH CENTRAL CASTING! COVID test Monday 10/17. Fitting Tuesday 10/18 (Stone Mountain). Filming Wednesday 10/19. Please put “MIDDLE SCHOOL” in email subject line.
- CHEERLEADERS – Seeking female minors, Ages 11 to 17 who can portray cheerleaders. You must have REAL experience with cheerleading. NO STUNTS, TRICKS OR CHEERING WILL BE NEEDED. You are stretching/warming up before a football game and should have real cheer experience and knowledge. COVID test Wednesday 10/5. Fitting Thursday 10/6. COVID test Monday 10/10. - JAZZ BAND STUDENTS – Seeking Minors, ages 11-15 years of age, any ethnicity, all genders to portray jazz band students. You must have REAL experience with brass instruments that would be found in a Jazz band. You don’t have to be a skilled player, but you must be able to provide your own instrument, and must convincingly portray someone who knows how to play it. Filming is Oct. 13th, but there will be pre employment Covid testing, and prefit dates before the 13th. Please put “JAZZ BAND” in email subject line.
- KIDS – Seeking minors ages 10-15 to portray middle schoolers for some fun school scenes coming up! All ethnicities and genders welcome to apply. Please put “SCHOOL” in email subject line.
