An open casting call has gone out seeking various types to work on the upcoming Netflix original feature film Maestro starring Bradey Cooper. The story is based on the career of legendary composer Leonard Bernstein and his marriage to Chilean-born actress Felicia Montealegre.
Cooper wrote the screenplay alongside Spotlight producer Josh Singer. Legendary directors Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg are attached to the project as producers, along with Joker director Todd Phillips. Carey Mulligan and Jeremy Strong will also star in the feature.
The project has been a long time in development with word that it was in development back in January 2020. The film was first at Paramount before moving to Netflix. Filming is set to get underway next month and will take place in the Tanglewood, Lenox and Berkshire areas of MA. The casting director is currently seeking the followinf to work on the feature as paid background and possible featured talent.
- Tanglewood Area Locals – Seeking Tanglewood, Lenox and Berkshire locals ( or those within 1 hour drive), Men and Women, Ages 25 to 35 range to work as paid background extras. Scenes are set in the 1940s & 1980s. Men should have full shaggy hair, no short haircuts, buzz cuts or shaved heads. No visible tattoos. Women must have natural colored hair and preferably above shoulder-length. Women should have shoulder length or shoter hairstyles, natural hair color, no acrylics or gel nails. Must be will to work around atmospheric smoke or herbal cigarette smoke. Please put “TANGLEWOOD LOCAL” in email subject line.
This is a period piece set in the 1940’s through 1980’s.
