A casting call has gone out seeking various types to work on the upcoming Netflix/Blumhouse film “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone” based on the novella of the same name featured in Stephen King’s 2020 collection If It Bleeds. Set to star are Jaeden Martell and Donald Sutherland. Mr. Harrigan’s Phone tells the story of a teenage boy named Craig who lives in the small town of Harlow, Maine and gets a part time job assisting his elderly neighbor – the titular Mr. Harrigan. The two form a friendship, and a tradition begins that sees Harrigan send Craig a lottery ticket four times a year: on Valentine’s Day, the kid’s birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. When one of the scratchers turns out to be a winner, the protagonist decides to do the nice thing and purchase his employer a brand new iPhone… which turns out to be a device that connects them even beyond the grave.
Production is currently underway in the Stamford, Connecticut area with an eye on the service streaming the film sometime in late 2022. The casting director is currently seeking the following to work on the feature as paid background, standins, photodoubles and possible featured talent:
- KEYBOARDIST – Seeking a keyboard musican to portray a pianist in a band for school dance scene. Testing on Wednesday 12/1 in Brooklyn or Stamford. Filming on Friday 12/3 in Stamford. Please put “PIANO MAN” in email subject line.
- YOUNG ADULTS – Seeking actual TEENS between the ages 18 and 20 years old to portray students in high school for high chool dance and classroom scenes. Work dates – November 22th – 24th & November 29th – December 3rd [not needed every day]. COVID Testing For Monday Film Shoots; Testing on Fridays. Tues-Friday Film Shoots: Two days prior to shoot dates. Please put “FB HS” in email subject line.
Please Note: Mandatory COVID testing is provided by production prior to filming. COVID Testing is also compensated for parents and children.
Per the recently revised Return to Work Agreement, this production intends to mandate vaccinations in accordance with the unions’ guidance and will require everyone working in Zone A (other than minors under the age of 12) to be fully vaccinated as a condition ofemployment and/or prior to entering the workplace. Persons who cannot be vaccinated due to a disability, medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief, practice or observance may be entitled to an exception if a reasonable accommodation is available. For minors, this will also be required for the parent / on set guardian.
