Production is currently underway on the upcoming HBO limited series from The Wire executive producers David Simon and George Pelecano titled We Own This City. According to Deadline, the six-hour limited series, to be directed and executive produced by Reinaldo Marcus Green, is based on The Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton’s book We Own This City: A True Story of Crime, Cops and Corruption. The series will chronicle the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force and the corruption and moral collapse that befell an American city in which the policies of drug prohibition and mass arrest were championed at the expense of actual police work. Set to star are Jon Bernthal, Josh Charles, Jamie Hector, McKinley Belcher III, Gabriel Cateris, Jermaine Crawford, Nathan E. Corbett, Don Harvey along with The Wire alums Thaddeus Street, Tray Chaney and Chris Clanton who will start in recurring roles.
Filming is currently taking place in and around the Baltimore/DMV area. The casting directors are currently seeking a variety of SAG/AFTRA and NONUNION faces to play the following on the series as paid background and possible featured talent:
- ACTORS W/CARS – Seeking a variety of new face, Men and Women, Ages 18+ who are car owners with year prior to 2002-03 and 2009 or previous years. Two COVID tests are required before filming. The 1st for Monday Oct. 18th, The 2nd for Tuesday Oct 19th. Films Wednesday October 20th.
- ACTIVISTS – Seeking Men and Women, Ages 16+ to work as youth activists, demonstrators and protestor types. There are FOUR COVID tests required. The 1st occurs on Friday 10/08, 2nd Saturday 10/9 and again on Thursday 10/14 and Friday 10/15. Tests are paid for by production.
- POLICE OFFICER TYPES – Seeking Men and Women, Ages 21+ to work as police and guard types. There are TWO COVID tests required. The 1st occurs on Wednesday Oct. 20th and the 2nd on Thursday Oct. 21st. Film date is Friday October 22nd.
