Seeking Equity Dancers for ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ Tour

A casting call has gone out seeking equity male and female dancers for musical Jesus Christ Superstar 2020-21 Tour as well as files for the current national tour. They are specifically looking for exceptional dancer/ singers who have an authentic feel, understanding & passion for the sound & music of late 60s/early 70s rock music.

SEEKING:

  • DANCER/SINGERS- versatile, outstanding dancers who are also strong classic rock, pop or soul singers. Must be excellent dancers and singers. Character ages are 20’s/30’s. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The choreography is extremely rhythmic, energetic and requires physical stamina. Ensemble members must be comfortable being able to sing well and engage in intense aerobic movement at the same time. Portions of the show involve lifts and partnering, jumping and kneeling. A dance background in any of the following styles is helpful: modern, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, African, musical theater. Artists should be very comfortable with their bodies; men appear shirtless at times and some women appear with bare midriffs. Featured roles such ad HEROD, SIMON and PETER will come out of the ensemble. Members of the Ensemble may also cover select principal roles.

All talent must have a valid passport good through 12/31/2021. Tour may play Canada.

Please be warmed up and prepared to dance. Bring flat shoes or sneakers. Bring a Photo and resume and book of music in case you are asked to sing. The Production brings the focus back to the show’s origins as a rock concept album, emphasizing a rock concert aesthetic rather than musical theater.
