A casting call has gone out seeking various types from the very young to the old for the upcoming Fox Searchlight production feature The Eyes of Tammy Faye. The film is based on the book of the same name about the rise, fall and redemption of televangelist Tammy Bakker. Set to star in the film are Andrew Garfield as Jim Bakker, Jessica Chastain (who is also producing) in the title role of Tammy Faye Bakker, Sam Jaeger, Vincent D’Onofrio, Gabriel Olds, Chandler Head, Cherry Jones and Fredric Lehne.
In the 1970s and 80s, Tammy Faye and her husband, Jim Bakker, rose from humble beginnings to create the world’s largest religious broadcasting network and theme park, and were revered for their message of love, acceptance and prosperity. Tammy Faye was legendary for her indelible eyelashes, her idiosyncratic singing, and her eagerness to embrace people from all walks of life. However, it wasn’t long before financial improprieties, scheming rivals, and scandal toppled their carefully constructed empire.
Production started last week in Charlotte, North Carolina and will film through mid-December. This is a period piece that covers many different eras. A major casting call went out seeking all types to play background extras, standins, and possible featured talent. At the present time the casting director is currently seeking the following:
- KIDS – Seeking Kids to portray kid audience members for a 70’s scene. Works 11/15. Please put 11/15 KID AVAIL in email subject line.
- PTL GUARD – Seeking young Caucasian, mid 20’s – early 30’s to play handsome PTL Guard. This is a featured role. Do not submit for this request if you are not in that age range. MUST be available for filming 6 Days -11/14, 12/2, 12/3, 12/4, 12/5, 12/6. Please put 6 DATE GUARD REQUEST in the email subject line.
- HERITAGE USA TYPES – Seeking preppy, upscale Caucasian Males to portray 1981 Heritage USA types. Please put 11/14 MALE REQUEST in the email subject line.
- BABY GIRL TWINS – Seeking set of Caucasian Girl Twins around 3 months old or a 3 month old baby Girl. Must be available BOTH dates. Works 11/12 -11/13. Please put 11/12-11/13 BABY REQUEST in the email subject line.
- GENERAL EXTRAS – Seeking Children, Men, Women & Seniors all ages, all types. Also, needed are people who have vintage vehicles. All roles are paid.
