Screenwriter and actress Lena Waithe has signed on to join the Season 3 cast of the acclaimed HBO sci-fi drama Westworld. According to Deadline, her role is being kept secret it is hinted that it likely involves a critical plot point of the robots and humans drama. Season 3 of Westworld just began production but likely will not air until 2020.
Waithe is the creator of Showtime’s The Chi. She has previously appeared in the film Ready Player One and had cameos on TV shows This Is Us, Transparent and Dear White People. She is writer on BET’s Boomerang and made history as the first black woman to win the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series due to her work on Netflix’s Master of None.
Waithe joins Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) as a newcomer to the show for season 3. She is represented by by WME, The Mission Entertainment, and Del, Shaw, Moonves.
