A casting call has gone out seeking talent to work on the upcoming feature film adaptation of the wildly popular, critically acclaimed book “The Secret“. Set to star is Katie Holmes and Josh Lucas. According to Variety, Andy Tennant, who is best known for overseeing hit romantic comedies such as “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Hitch.” Bekah Brunstetter, a writer on NBC’s hit drama “This Is Us,” will direct. Robert Cort will produce the film with Covert Media CEO Paul Hanson, whose company will finance and handle worldwide sales on the feature. The film will center on a hard-working widow with three children who hires a handyman to fix her house during a terrible storm. When not doing home repairs, he shares his philosophy of believing in the power of the universe to deliver what we want.
Filming will be taking place from late October thru early December in New Orleans and Madisonville, LA areas. The casting director is currently seeking background actors to portray College Students, Elementary School – High School children, Business People and Rural, small town residents. You do not have to be registered with Central Casting to work on this project! Below are a few specific roles that can be submitted for at present time:
- BABY – Seeking African American looking twins or singleton babies (ages 3-6 months) to portray the baby of an actress. Works 11/19. If the minor child is chosen, as the parent/guardian you will need to submit proper documents by Thursday 11/15 so they can file a Louisiana Minor Work permit. They will need a photo ID or birth certificate to verify age and a document verifying the minor’s social security number.
- COLLEGE STUDENTS – Seeking Men & Women, Ages 20-30 (must have youthful looks), Any ethnicity, to portray College Students at a Senior level engineering class. You must be able to bring your own laptop. You will receive a $15 for your laptop. Works 10/30.
- PROFESSORS – Seeking Men & Women, Ages 40’s-60’s, Any ethnicity to portray College Professors. Works 10/30.
- RESTAURANT KIDS – Seeking Kids Ages 6-15 years of age, any ethnicity to work a restaurant scene. Works Wednesday 10/31.
- RESTAURANT PATRONS – Seeking Men & Women 18+ any ethnicity to portray New Orleans Restaurant Goers. Works 10/31.
- WAITRESS – Seeking a Female (18+ years old, any ethnicity) to portray a waitress. Waitress experienced preferred! Please list your experience in your email submission! Works 10/31.

- VEHICLES – Seeking general submissions from Men & Women, Any ethnicity, Age 20’s-50’s to portray small town types to work alongside their vehicles. You must feel comfortable driving or parking your car in the scenes. Sedans, SUVs and Trucks are OK. No white, red or loud colored vehicles. - NEIGHBOR – Seeking a 20’s-50’s Male and Females (any ethnicity) to portray Neighbors in a small town. Works Fri 11/2 in Madisonville or Lacombe, LA.
