Disney has tapped an all-star line up to complete its cast for the upcoming live-action remake adaptation of “The Lion King”. The feature has signed on Golden Globe winner Donald Glover is on board to voice Simba, James Earl Jones who will reprise his role of Mufasa that he voiced in the original and Beyonce is confirmed for the role of Nala. Also set to star are Seth Rogen and Billy Eicher who will voice Timon and Pumbaa, Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver, John Kani, Alfre Woodard, Keegan-Michael Key and more. On September 28, 2016, Walt Disney Pictures confirmed that Jon Favreau would be directing a fast-tracked live-action remake of the 1994 animated film which would feature the songs from the 1994 film, following a string of recent box office successes on the other Disney live-action fantasy films such as Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book and Beauty and The Beast with the latter three also earning critical praise. Later on, it was reported that Disney had hired Jeff Nathanson to write the screenplay for the remake.
